Here are some reasons to consider making good lifestyle changes.  Not only for you but your family!  Here is a study that shows how we as a nation are becoming overfat.  Here is data from Revisiting the Global Overfat Pandemic (link and information below).

  1. In one study it shows that in the US adults between 2013 – 2016 went from being overfat at 87% in 2013 to 91% in 2016. WOW!  Overfat is defined as an excess body fat that will impair health.  There are even those at a normal weight but who have excess fat – so don’t be deceived if your weight is normal – what is your lean muscle mass??
  2. Not only are adults more overfat but the same study shows that kids in the same time went from 52% overfat in 2013 to 69% overfat in 2016. This breaks my heart as a former peds nurse and primary care provider!
  3. Overfat can lead to risks of many things including: elevated blood glucose or abnormal high and low, abnormal HDL high density lipoprotein known as good cholesterol, High Triglycerides (part of cholesterol panel that should be low), elevated blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, liver disease, cancers, cardiovascular disease and physical impairments. Yikes – who wants to reduce those risks?? I do!!

I am happy to go over ways to reduce your risks and lead a healthier and happier life!
